Chèrie brings decades of experience as an educator, artist, and lifelong maker and teacher to Southern Grace Needlepoint. Much of her professional career was devoted to teaching and training, covering everything from technical writing and business process analysis to catering and retail sales. She holds a Master of Arts in Museum Studies from Johns Hopkins University, where her studies deepened her appreciation for art, American craft traditions, and material culture.
Chèrie’s needlepoint journey began nearly 15 years ago through the mentorship of a dear friend, and she has since become passionate about both the craft itself and helping others develop their skills. She is a member of the American Needlepoint Guild, as well as the Shenandoah Valley Chapter of ANG, Chattanooga Waste Knots, and Upstate Stitchers of the Carolinas.
Her artistic interests extend well beyond needlepoint. Chèrie creates and teaches Japanese kumihimo braiding, and has explored chain maille jewelry, enameling, metalsmithing, and polymer clay. With her extensive teaching background and love of the arts, Chèrie brings a wealth of knowledge, creativity, and enthusiasm to every class.
